Welcome to the Maranger lab

Our research tries to understand how aquatic ecosystem functioning responds to different drivers in a changing world. More specifically we focus on the biogeochemical cycling of nitrogen, phosphorus and carbon, and characterize how organisms, human activities and climate alter the stocks and flows of these elements and influence overall water quality. We work in a broad suite of aquatic ecosystems, from lakes to rivers to oceans and work at multiple scales of inquiry from functional traits to ecosystems while assessing regional to global impacts.
